Long Island Cares, Inc., The Harry Chapin Food Bank

The ElC Food pantry is an agency of Long Island Cares, Inc.  Headquartered in Hauppauge, NY, Long Island Cares is the parent organization for 400 member agencies in Suffolk and Nassau Counties.  You may have seen Long Island Cares delivery trucks with a large photo of the late iconic singer/songwriter Harry Chapin on the side.  A beloved and renowned musician, Harry Chapin was a philanthropist wtih a vision of a hunger-free world.  In 1980, he founded Long Island Cares, the region's first food bank.  Click on the LI Cares logo above for more information.
