Ecumenical Lay Council News and Upcoming Outreach
In addition to providing food, toiletries, and other daily necessities
for about 170 families on a regular basis, the Ecumenical Lay Council (ELC) of Northport-East Northport sponsors and facilitates events and outreach programs to enhance the lives of individuals families in our area.

Upcoming Events
As participants in the annual Great Cow Harbor Race register on Friday, September 19, from 5:50 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the William Brosnan School on Laurel Avenue in Northport, the Northport High School cross-country and track booster clubs are sponsoring a food/cash drive to benefit the pantry.
Ongoing Programs
ADOPT-A-FAMILY PARTNERSHIP
Each Christmas Season, the ELC Food Pantry and member houses of worship partner with ELC member and local nonprofit Youth Directions and Alternatives (YDA) to facilitate gift-giving by community members to children of our food pantry clients.
THANKSGIVING TURKEYS & TRIMMINGS
A variety of community and civic organizations bring an extra measure of joy to our neighbors in need by donating frozen turkeys, bags of cranberry sauce, stuffing mix, pumpkin filling, and other trimmings which our food pantry clients pick up the week leading up to Thanksgiving.
EASTER BASKETS
Church groups, community organizations, and neighborhood families contribute loving measures of spring cheer by beautifully decocorated Easter baskets with goodies and surprises for our clients.
The Ecumenical Lay Council seeks to bring together the entire community
in a spirit service and celebration. The annual Easter Sunrise Service
in Northport Village Park at the head
of the harbor to pause and renew our dedication and gratitude and dedication to follow the life-giving example of Jesus's sacrifice and boundless gift of love.
